The 2025 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Conference, proudly sponsored by Green Tech Skillnet and the Skillnet Offshore Wind Academy (SOWA), marked a groundbreaking moment for Ireland’s renewable energy sector. This first-of-its-kind event brought together over 130 professionals to collaborate on enhancing EIA as a vital tool for shaping and consenting renewable energy projects.
Under the theme “Effective EIA for Our Renewable Energy Goals,” the conference highlighted the critical role of EIA in designing sustainable projects that align with Ireland’s climate targets. Attendees included Government departments, statutory consultees, consenting authorities (An Bord Pleanála and over 10 councils), developers, academics, consultants, NGOs, and industry leaders.
Developed in partnership with FothergillTC, Green Tech Skillnet, and SOWA, the conference was curated and chaired by Josh Fothergill, with invaluable contributions from the GTS Environmental Skills Advisory Group in shaping the agenda.
