Event Description

Join us live for our webinar, sponsored by Green Tech Skillnet, featuring guest speakers from Arthur Cox on Friday 24 January 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00.

As we work towards delivering a clean energy future for Ireland, the critical role that our planning system will play in facilitating this transition is evident now more than ever.

In October 2024, the Planning and Development Bill passed all stages of the legislative process following nearly 200 hours of debate across the Dáil and Seanad and was signed into law by the Irish President.

The new legislation will be a critical enabler for the wind energy industry to help Ireland reach its climate goals, provide more affordable clean energy to power our communities and secure Ireland’s supply of clean electricity.

Our speakers will provide an overview of:

  • Key provisions in the new Planning and Development Act 2024 relating to wind energy
  • The development of secondary legislation and what it means for industry
  • Next steps for commencement and implementation of the Act

Arthur Cox Speakers:

  • Danielle Conaghan, partner and the head of the Environment and Planning Group
  • David Ryan, associate in the Environment and Planning Group
  • Eva Morrissey, professional support lawyer in the Environment and Planning Group
  • Jacinta Conway, partner in the Environment and Planning Group
