Sustainability Skills and key principles of the Circular Economy
Learn what sustainability skills will SME business owners and their teams require both now and in the near future, and what are the challenges and opportunities associated with the Circular Economy in Ireland?
These above questions will be explored in further detail in this interactive session, using best practice examples and thought leadership from Ireland's Knowledge Centre for Carbon, Climate and Community Action (IKC3). Working in partnership with Circular Economy expert Dr. Aodhan Newsholme and David Williamson from IKC3, this session will critically consider these topics and identify which skills we see are priority for industry, with a specific focus on the renewable technology sector, and gain insights to the key principles of the Circular Economy.

About the Trainer
Dr. Aodhan Newsholme is an interdisciplinary researcher in topics related to the circular economy. Aodhan’s PhD research examined supply chain and policy approaches to developing a circular economy and has published in this field. He is currently a Lecturer on the Circular Economy, as part of Ireland’s Knowledge Centre for Carbon, Climate and Community Action at Munster Technological University. Aodhan has global industry experience in the supply chain sector, combined with a keen interest in research and teaching. He is a practice-focused researcher and is very interested in co-developing sustainable circular economy initiatives with stakeholders.
David Williamson brings many years of experience in supporting business growth through university-industry collaboration. A registered Technology Transfer professional, trainer and business mentor, David is the Industry Liaison for Ireland’s Knowledge Centre for Carbon, Climate and Community action, working in partnership with Munster Technological University, Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin, and is working across sectors to identify skills needs for sustainability and provide flexible solutions to required for transition to low carbon economy.
